Nairobi, May 28, 2024 - Health services at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital in Kayole received a significant boost with the unveiling of a state-of-the-art CT scan machine. The launch event, attended by notable guests including Boey Mo from ANKE and Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital CEO Dr. Martin Wafula, marked a new chapter in the hospital's journey towards providing advanced medical care.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Wafula underscored the importance of this new installation. "Today, we celebrate a significant milestone for our hospital and the residents of Nairobi. The availability of this advanced CT scan machine ensures that our patients receivehigh-quality diagnostic services, enhancing our ability to offer timely and accurate medical care."
The event, which was organized as a formal conference, featured insightful speeches, live demonstrations of the CT scan machine, and a ceremonial ribbon-cutting. The new CT scan machine, supplied by ANKE will produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues, facilitating precise diagnosis and treatment.
With this machine, we will be able to perform cardiac, pulmonary aorta, and prolusion scans at a fraction of the cost charged by private hospitals,”Dr. Wafula noted. NHIF holders seeking CT scan services at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital will receive them free of charge.
Dr. Wafula attributed the successful procurement of the machine to the excellent collaboration between the hospital's administration and its board of management. He emphasized that the new machine has the capacity to conduct over 100 tests a day, with scan reports being generated in less than two hours. "This will significantly reduce patient wait times and help decongest major hospitals like Kenyatta National Hospital," he added.
Boey Mo expressed the company's dedication to improving healthcare in Kenya. "Since 2015, ANKE has been supplying advanced medical imaging solutions to both public and private hospitals in Kenya. We are committed to continuing this partnership and bringing more innovative products to improve healthcare services," he said. He also highlighted that the machine would be maintained by both Kenyan engineers and ANKE’s distributor’s engineers, ensuring its optimal performance.
The launch of the CT scan machine at Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital signifies the strong partnership between the hospital and ANKE. This collaboration is expected to bring numerous benefits, including enhanced diagnostic capabilities, reduced costs for patients, and improved training for medical staff.
Looking forward, Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital and ANKE plan to deepen their cooperation to bring more advanced medical technologies to Kenya. Dr. Wafula concluded by expressing his optimism for the future, "With steadfast partners like ANKE, we are confident in our ability to continually enhance our healthcare services and provide our patients with the best possible care."
ANKE will also remain unwavering in her commitment to better health care for all. We sincerely hope that the Kenyan people can get more medical resources, solve the many problems of hospital radiologists, and improve the level of hospital operation.
